Cultural Background: Haida, Masset Band, Prince Rupert, BC

A self-taught Haida artist born in Prince Rupert, BC in 1961, Eric is a member of the Masset Band. His crest is the Eagle and his family clan is the Frog. While Eric has always been exposed to Haida art, he only started creating prints and paintings on a regular basis in 2002. Eric cites Bill Reid and Robert Davidson as his primary influences, and most of his pieces reflect classic Haida design. Eric's goal as an artist is to “continue to be a small part of the revival and continuity of our peoples' traditions.” Eric currently resides in Vancouver.

Son sigle est un aigle et son clan familial est la grenouille. ร‰ric a toujours รฉtรฉ exposรฉ ร  lโ€™art haรฏda mais cโ€™est seulement depuis 2002 quโ€™il crรฉe ses ล“uvres sur une base rรฉguliรจre. Bill Reid et Robert Davidson ont รฉtรฉ les influences primaires pour ร‰ric et la majoritรฉ de ses piรจces reflรจtent un design haรฏda classique. Son objectif en tant quโ€™artiste est de ยซ faire parti de la renaissance et de continuer la tradition de son peuple ยป. ร‰ric habite prรฉsentement ร  Vancouver.
