Lisa Berry
Cultural Background: Métis, Treaty 8, Grand Prairie AB
Lisa Berry was born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Treaty 8 territory. She resides in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley and is a proud member of Métis Nation BC. Lisa is a self-taught artist. She began creating art at a young age with the aspiration of becoming an artist.
While raising her children, Lisa ran a photography business for 15 years before returning to her passion for art. In 2019, she began working in education, which marked the start of her journey to reconnect with her Métis culture. In 2022, she launched her art business, Floral Feathers. Since then, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with Métis Nations across the homeland to create original prints, colouring sheets, and “Every Child Matters” t-shirts, among other projects. Lisa’s art showcases the beauty of Métis culture, featuring the florals seen in beadwork and Indigenous women.
Origine Culturelle: Métis, Treaty 8, Grand Prairie AB
