After earning a BFA at The School of Visual Arts in New York City Paul continued his study of painting with John Phillip Osbourne at The Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey. His work has been included in numerous national and regional juried competitions and shows.

Using representation as a starting point these works travel to an imagined place where color & tone and the design & composition of the landscape are explored. Along with brushwork, light & shadow also play an important role in creating space & atmosphere in these vibrant works.

Influenced by Wolf Kahn and Richard Mayhew some of Paul's recent work also combines Rothko’s color filled use of space with the dramatic composition of Gustav Klimt's landscapes for these contemporary and colorful paintings in oil.

Après avoir obtenu un baccalauréat en beaux-arts à la School of Visual Arts de New York, Paul a poursuivi ses études en peinture avec John Phillip Osbourne à la Ridgewood Art Institute dans le New Jersey. Son travail a été présenté dans de nombreux concours et expositions nationaux et régionaux avec jury.

Partant de la représentation, ses œuvres nous transportent vers un lieu imaginé où la couleur et la tonalité, ainsi que le design et la composition du paysage, sont explorés. Outre le travail au pinceau, la lumière et l’ombre jouent également un rôle important dans la création de l’espace et de l’atmosphère dans ces œuvres vibrantes.

Influencé par Wolf Kahn et Richard Mayhew, certains des travaux récents de Paul combinent aussi l’utilisation de l’espace coloré à la manière de Rothko avec la composition dramatique des paysages de Gustav Klimt, pour créer ces peintures contemporaines et colorées à l’huile.
