MAJA, also known as Manuela Jarry, is a young artist, full of life and energy. Manuela Jarry is a professional artist from Delson, Quebec, Canada. She was born and raised in Quebec and is part of a large close-knit family. Her love of the arts was apparent early on and she was encouraged to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She studied Fine Arts at Champlain College, St-Lambert and went on to Concordia University in Montreal, where she specialized in Painting and Drawing. She was always drawn to the technical aspects of the different mediums she used, and is a firm believer that it's only with practice that one can truly find their artistic voice. It was during a student exchange to Europe that she fell in love with textile and printmaking, which she now incorporates in her work. Manuela paints everyday of the week, and experiments with anything she can get her hands on. Her work is witty, whimsical and fun. Her art stands somewhere between print and paint and often uses fabric, textured materials and wallpaper.

Originaire de Delson, au Québec, Manuela est une artiste professionnelle née et élevée au sein d’une grande famille tissée serrée. Son amour pour les arts s’est manifesté très tôt, et elle a été encouragée à poursuivre son rêve de devenir artiste.

Elle a étudié les beaux-arts au Collège Champlain de St-Lambert, puis a poursuivi ses études à l’Université Concordia à Montréal, où elle s’est spécialisée en peinture et en dessin. Attirée par les aspects techniques des médiums qu’elle explore, elle croit fermement que c’est par la pratique qu’on découvre véritablement sa voix artistique.

C’est lors d’un échange étudiant en Europe qu’elle est tombée amoureuse du textile et de l’estampe, qu’elle intègre maintenant à ses œuvres.
Manuela peint tous les jours de la semaine et expérimente avec tout ce qui lui tombe sous la main. Son travail est plein d’esprit, fantaisiste et amusant. Son art se situe quelque part entre l’estampe et la peinture, incorporant souvent du tissu, des matériaux texturés et du papier peint.
