Kathy Morton Stanion has an extensive background in graphic and fine art. She has a degree in visual communication from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and was only one of two students to receive a perfect score on her portfolio. Specializing in Illustration and graphic design, she has held several positions as an art director with a client list including Playboy, Michael Jackson, and Islander Sportswear among others. She painted 15 paintings for Carnival Cruise Line's ship "Pride" and has also illustrated many magazine and book covers and tattoo designs.

Kathy has exhibited and received many awards including many "Best of Shows" in local, national and international competitions. Some of her other awards include "Artist of the Year from the San Pedro Art Association, "Mayor's Choice Award", and a "First Place" award from Santa Barbara National Juried Arts Invitational Exhibition which was selected from over 1,500 entries.

Kathy's work is collected and included in corporate and private collections around the world. Her current 2017 work can now be found in luxury hotels & resorts as well as other corporate establishments including B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Equinox New York, The Ritz-Carlton, Astana, Kazakhstan and The Confidential Hotel in London.

I feel my work is an on-going creative adventure. I am always experimenting and exploring new ways to develop my art. But more than just create pretty pictures, I really try to put a piece of my soul into each piece. I want the viewer to be drawn into it and to take a creative visual journey. Often I will hide secret messages and/or symbols intending to leave a positive thought in the viewer's subconscious. I believe we all can always use a little more positivity in our world and if for a brief second I can accomplish that, then I have succeeded with the work of art.

Parmi ses distinctions notables figurent le titre d’" Artiste de l’année " décerné par la San Pedro Art Association, le " Prix du maire " et un premier prix lors de l’Exposition nationale d’art invitée de Santa Barbara, choisie parmi plus de 1 500 inscriptions.

Ses œuvres font partie de collections privées et corporatives à travers le monde. Depuis 2017, ses créations peuvent être admirées dans des hôtels et complexes hôteliers de luxe, ainsi que dans plusieurs établissements corporatifs tels que le B Ocean Resort à Fort Lauderdale, Equinox à New York, The Ritz-Carlton à Astana (Kazakhstan) et The Confidential Hotel à Londres.

" Pour moi, mon travail est une aventure créative en constante évolution. Je suis toujours en train d’expérimenter et d’explorer de nouvelles façons de faire évoluer mon art. Mais au-delà de créer de belles images, je cherche vraiment à mettre un morceau de mon âme dans chaque œuvre. Je veux que le spectateur soit attiré, qu’il entreprenne un voyage visuel créatif. J’insère souvent des messages secrets ou des symboles, dans l’intention de laisser une pensée positive dans l’inconscient du spectateur. Je crois que nous avons tous besoin d’un peu plus de positivité dans notre monde et si, ne serait-ce qu’un instant, je peux y contribuer à travers mon art, alors j’ai réussi. "
