Sherri Cassell a California native was born and grew up in Santa Paula, a small town located in the Santa Clara Valley surrounded by lush avocado, orange and lemon orchards. She remembers as a child looking up at the beautiful mountains surrounding her home town and playing underneath the tall eucalyptus trees. This was the beginning of her love for the California landscape.
Sherri freelanced in commercial art for several years before devoting herself to fine art which is her true passion. Sherri is an impressionistic landscape painter and her focus is the California landscape; she paints in plein air and also her studio. The majority of her work is in pastel she loves the rich colors and tactile quality of this medium, she also enjoys working in oils. Sherri is an award winning artist who has studied with accomplished national and local artists Tony Allain, Glenna Hartmann and Bert Collins as well as studying on her own by going through many miles of paper and canvas.

Sherri Cassell, originaire de Californie, est née et a grandi à Santa Paula, une petite ville située dans la vallée de Santa Clara, entourée de luxuriants vergers d’avocats, d’oranges et de citrons. Elle se souvient, enfant, avoir levé les yeux vers les magnifiques montagnes qui entouraient sa ville natale et joué sous les grands eucalyptus. Ce fut le début de son amour pour les paysages californiens.

Sherri a travaillé pendant plusieurs années comme pigiste en art commercial avant de se consacrer entièrement aux beaux-arts, sa véritable passion. Peintre paysagiste impressionniste, elle se concentre sur les paysages de la Californie, qu’elle peint en plein air ainsi que dans son atelier. Elle travaille principalement au pastel, un médium qu’elle affectionne pour ses couleurs riches et sa qualité tactile, mais elle aime également peindre à l’huile.

Artiste primée, Sherri a étudié auprès d’artistes réputés à l’échelle locale et nationale, notamment Tony Allain, Glenna Hartmann et Bert Collins. Elle a aussi perfectionné son art de façon autodidacte, en parcourant de nombreux kilomètres de papier et de toile.
