Throughout her life, Peggy has enjoyed puttering in a variety of creative endeavors, but it wasn’t until mid-November 1999 that she decided to take the leap and officially created Heart Bow Press. After nearly 20 years as a psychiatric social worker working primarily with children and adolescents she, with the support of family and friends, quit her “job” in search of a less stressful lifestyle which would allow her to share her passion for this Life using her photography and painting.

Although she has had no formal training in either painting or photography, her deep-felt connection to the natural world and it’s rainbow of shapes, colors and shadow informs her work. Her paintings, while primitive in style, convey the emotion, contours and wonders of this Life as she experiences them.
Having always found pleasure in the written word, Peggy originally started Heart Bow Press with a line of note cards. Whether in an unexpected note from a friend, or in stumbling upon an old shoebox full of letters in the attic, there is something magical and enduring in a hand written letter. The time spent in sitting down, being still and putting pen to paper is never wasted, and often creates an invaluable record of our spirits. Over time the product line has expanded. While the company has grown, each item is still created start to finish by the artist and her commitment to meeting the unique needs of each customer remains.

Tout au long de sa vie, Peggy a toujours aimé explorer diverses avenues créatives, mais ce n’est qu’à la mi-novembre 1999 qu’elle a décidé de faire le grand saut en créant officiellement Heart Bow Press. Après près de 20 ans de carrière comme travailleuse sociale en psychiatrie, principalement auprès d’enfants et d’adolescents, elle a quitté son " emploi " avec le soutien de sa famille et de ses amis, à la recherche d’un mode de vie moins stressant lui permettant de partager sa passion pour la Vie à travers la photographie et la peinture.

Bien qu’elle n’ait reçu aucune formation officielle en peinture ou en photographie, sa connexion profonde avec le monde naturel — et son arc-en-ciel de formes, de couleurs et d’ombres — nourrit son travail artistique. Ses peintures, de style primitif, transmettent l’émotion, les contours et les merveilles de cette Vie telle qu’elle les perçoit.

Ayant toujours eu un grand plaisir pour l’écriture, Peggy a d’abord lancé Heart Bow Press avec une ligne de cartes de correspondance. Que ce soit une note inattendue d’un ami ou la découverte d’une vieille boîte de lettres dans un grenier, il y a quelque chose de magique et d’intemporel dans une lettre manuscrite. Le simple fait de s’asseoir, de prendre le temps et de mettre ses pensées sur papier n’est jamais du temps perdu — c’est souvent un précieux témoignage de notre âme. Avec le temps, la gamme de produits s’est élargie. Bien que l’entreprise ait grandi, chaque article est encore entièrement conçu par l’artiste elle-même, et son engagement envers les besoins uniques de chaque client demeure intact.
