Born and raised in Ontario, Jennifer’s first art instruction began as a teenager when she joined her mother for evening oil painting classes. This experience taught her the foundations of constructing a scene and building up the layers. She didn’t pursue the arts in her formal education but ventured to the skies and was rewarded with her pilot’s license. Her working career ended in the mid 90’s with the start of a family. A chance meeting with an artist in 2003 in her new town of Courtenay on Vancouver Island initiated a change and a future within the arts community. For three years, Jennifer actualized her dream of having commercial space for creating and showcasing her work by collaborating with 4 other professional artists to establish Art Alchemy, a studio/gallery in Courtenay, BC which still operates without her involvement. Currently Jennifer is exploring the medium of wax, both hot and cold, aiming to build a new body of work to feature.

Jennifer, née et élevée en Ontario, a reçu ses premières instructions artistiques à l’adolescence en suivant des cours de peinture à l’huile en soirée avec sa mère. Cette expérience lui a enseigné les bases de la construction d’une scène et de la superposition des couches. Bien qu’elle n’ait pas poursuivi les arts dans ses études formelles, elle s’est tournée vers l’aviation et a obtenu sa licence de pilote. Sa carrière professionnelle a pris fin au milieu des années 90 avec le début de sa vie de famille.

En 2003, une rencontre fortuite avec un artiste dans sa nouvelle ville de Courtenay, sur l’Île de Vancouver, a marqué un tournant et l’a conduite vers la communauté artistique locale. Pendant trois ans, Jennifer a réalisé son rêve en collaborant avec quatre autres artistes professionnels pour créer Art Alchemy, un studio/galerie à Courtenay, toujours en activité bien qu’elle n’en fasse plus partie.

Actuellement, Jennifer explore le medium de la cire, à la fois chaude et froide, avec pour objectif de développer une nouvelle série d’œuvres à présenter.
