Jennifer Harwood, born in London, Ontario, was raised and now resides in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. She is primarily self-taught, but has taken classes in drawing, composition and colour through Emily Carr College of Arts and Design, the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Having had an interest in visual art at a young age, Jennifer took a detour to study and receive a BA in Contemporary Dance from Simon Fraser University. She has performed across Canada and in Vancouver and has had the opportunity to spend time in London, England studying her craft. Jennifer’s next artistic venture led her to a diploma in Graphic Design and work in the real estate industry. Wanted to get back into visual art, she started to get involved with the Vancouver Art Guild and the Federation of Canadian Artists, which she is now an Associate member.

The most enjoyable part of painting for her is the experience of putting paint and brush to canvas. Her paintings play with bold colour and creatively interpreting the elements in an abstract way.

Jennifer Harwood est née à London, en Ontario, et a grandi à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique, où elle réside toujours. Principalement autodidacte, elle a néanmoins suivi des cours de dessin, de composition et de couleur à l’Emily Carr College of Arts and Design ainsi qu’à la Federation of Canadian Artists.

Depuis son jeune âge, Jennifer s’intéresse aux arts visuels, mais a d’abord fait un détour en étudiant la danse contemporaine à l’Université Simon Fraser, où elle a obtenu un baccalauréat. Elle a performé à travers le Canada et à Vancouver, avec une expérience d’étude à Londres, en Angleterre. Par la suite, elle a obtenu un diplôme en design graphique et a travaillé dans l’immobilier. Désireuse de revenir aux arts visuels, elle s’est impliquée auprès du Vancouver Art Guild et de la Federation of Canadian Artists, dont elle est aujourd’hui membre associée.

Pour Jennifer, le moment le plus plaisant dans la peinture est le contact direct entre la peinture, le pinceau et la toile. Ses œuvres jouent avec des couleurs audacieuses et une interprétation créative et abstraite des éléments.
